Does anyone have a picture of what the installed scoop should look like on a 550i? I installed mine and I think its right but I just want to make sure. I didn't have any install instructions.

Also, a question to the RPI guys. I was just wondering why the scoop has a square side and back instead of a smooth curve. Just by looking at it, it just seems like the air hitting the scoop isn't directing as much air directly into the air tube as it would if it was curved. Obviosly you know much more about this stuff than I do so I was just wondering if you could help me understand why a curved scoop wasn't developed.

Thanks.

Which question? The installed picture or why the scoop isn't curved? Care to share where I could find it?

A lot of R &D went into the design of the scoop. We went through many prototype scoops including the curved design you're referring to. At the end, what you have is the best for maximum performance gains.

I would have to believe Joe, they go to great pains to create ONLY effective Mods for our cars!! Now do you think you might be making one of your scoops for an E70 any time soon??

Thanks for the response Joe. I figured that you all must have at least considered or tested a curved design. I was just curious.

Thanks again.

We tried it with a smooth curve which did nothing. The key was pressure.
