I have a 2004 BMW 535d, Sprint Booster installed, ECU remap and I would like to add a RPI Scoop to get more air in the engine. WIll that work for a Diesel? Or is it just a Petrol thing?

It will work - but how well I'll let you know as soon as I get mine.

I've also ordered a BMC filter but I wont get mine for 2-3 weeks.

hahahaa we're in the same boat. I am about to order the RPI Scoop as we speak (and as soon as Paypal allows me to forward the payment) and I also ordered a BMC filter as well, yesterday. I guess we will both find out at the same time. The Diesel being a Turbo engine and working with lots of air, would make me think it will like the added air pressure inside the air box.... time will tell.

I forgot to mention, I also ordered the Angel iBright V3 white and some Matte Black grills. I will go all HID Xenon on Friday. I have Bi-Xenon as we speak, I will add Xenon on the Hi-Beam and on the Fog Lights as well. All 5000k temperature, clear white. It should look nice.
Regarding the RPI scoop, I have the air intake on the right side as I stay in the car, left side as you look at the car from the front. No RPI scoop was matching, so I got the M5 RPI scoops and will use the one that I need (adapt it if needed).

Q: Does the RPI Ram intake system work on the diesel models?
A: RPi has not tested it yet to know if:

1. the corresponding models will fit
2. if it will work and at the what capacity

More to come after some R&D.

Michelle, thanks for joining. As far as fitting goes, I ordered the M5 scoops. I saw all US cars (petrol ones) have the air intake on the left side of the hood. My European Diesel has it on the right side. A regular scoop wouldn't fit. I guess I will only use the left M5 scoop, it must fit. If it doesn't fit, I will see what can be done so it will eventually go in.
As for point 2, I don't know either, I never seen one installed on a diesel. It should work, considering a turbo diesel consumes more air than a naturally aspirated petrol engine. All extra air should be welcome.
My scoops are on the way, I should have them in a week.

We have powergains in Europe, we just need more. What we really need are some improvements for Diesel engines. There are only a couple of options for Diesel engines, we want more. Speaking of diesel options, there's a new ECU remap from Hamann for my 535d, 350hp and 660Nm. Should I go for it? I am currently at 315hp and it pulls like a rocket.
