I am just about to order a scoop and filter from nerweezy....

I've googled, searched, read, now I just need some "seat of the pants dyno results"

If you have installed these components, please share your first impressions after installation. Also, what are your thoughts on the long term use of the BMC filter. While I appreciate the significance that F1 cars use similar technology, it is also important to note that 'maintenance' on F1 cars is so different from a daily driver that you really cant compare the two.

I guess I am just a bit leary of removing the charcoal filter, using a different air filter that allows more air to pass, and ramming more air into the intake will increase the risk of some bad stuff getting into the engine.

How often would you recommend replacing a BMC filter?
TIA

The filters and scoops have been thoroughly tested. You don't have anything to worry about. After installing my setup, I noticed an increase of acceleration that I was not able to feel when I had dual cone air filters. I say go for it, you won't regret it.

I've got the RPI scoop and BMC filter -- and removed the charcoal filter as well. I feel the benefits at speeds of 60+ mph. I say go for it too!

I left the stock paper filter in because I didn't want to risk any damage. But I am just paranoid like that
I do have the RPi scoop though. Once your on the highway doing 100mph, you really do feel it

I also took out my charcoal filter Don't worry about taking out the charcoal filter since Euro cars don't even have that filter

I don't recommend washing the oil filter. Simply because most people experience MAF problems after they wash and re-oil the filter. Most people use too much oil when they re-oil it and this excess oil gets on the MAF sensor. I would just buy a new one since they come pre oiled with the perfect amount of oil from the factory.

It's not going to be a sensation like you put a supercharger on the car, it will feel faster, smoother and a bit more powerful, and I would STRONGLY suggest getting them as soon as possible!!

Not to take this thread off topic - if the Euro spec cars don't have the charcoal filter what is the purpose of it?
