I let my friend drive my car all he said was "I was driving at 40mph, then 60mph, I missed 50"
I definitely noticed a difference, especially 40+mph
If you want a technical answer look up "Delta P" It usually referenced for airplanes, simply put "How long does it take to equalize pressure or the change in pressure"
The scoop keeps the air box pressurized and with a good filter the air will flow more freely into the engine which will result in more HP.
Also, the intake for a stock 5series is at a 90degrees to the incoming air, the scoop gathers the air and directs it into the air box.
