2 questions...

1. Is an RPI scoop compatible with the Dinan Intake system? It appears that the Dinan already has a RAM air effect and a second inlet, but if this piece enhances that or is usable with that configuration, I might be interested

2. Just curious why the scoop has a right angle rather than radial curve pushing the air into the intake. It would seem to me an easy change and create much less turbulence and therefore greater flow. There may be a reason for it...just curious from a design perspective.

1) yes the RPI scoop will work with a Dinan CAI, you would just get a second scoop for the passenger side grill to accommodate the second inlet of the Dinan intake. Basically it would look like an M5 RPI scoop set-up.

2) RPI went thru countless designs and the angle in the final design was the one that tested via dyno to produce consistent gains. Technically it's not a complete right angle, hard to tell from the pics. From an engineering stand point regarding turbulence and air flow, a quick call to RPI can always be made...

for the V8 e60s with Dinan intake, yes the other side is functional so our customers who have gotten scoops have gotten the M5 scoops. for the design, RPI has gone through a lot of R&D and this one has produced the most gains on their dyno dynamics compared to all the other designs they had.

edit: and Geneoogle beats me by 1 minute.... AGAIN
