I would grade it as a fairly easy install. Filter you just release ~ 5 clips and pop off the airbox cover, replace filter, clip the cover back on. The scoop you'll need to remove the driver's side kidney grill which can be tricky, but with patience it's all very easy.

If you purchase from me I will provide tech. support as well.

Hi guys,
How hard is this scoop to fit for a complete novice? Is the filter easy to change too?

Yes and yes:
The scoop is about 3 screws, not hard at all, just got to remove your left side grille.
As for the filter - pop your hood, open the airbox (no tools needed, it's secured with clips) remove old filter, install new one ( remove the charcoal filter too it is useless) tip: when you open the airbox the actual airfilter will remain in the bottom portion, if you look under the top portion (the part you took off) there is the charcoal filter - remove this.
PM me if you need more

This is definately something on my list to do very soon. I looked at the front of my grills and I have 2 black bars that cross each other and I didn't see that on the pics from people who had installed there's? Does the scoop fit all E60's?

Yes, it does, those bars you are referring to are radiator supports. I have them as well, but our V-8 friends may have them in a different location (since they have a different radiator)

+1, I believe it's just the 550 tho and not the 545i that is slightly different....

when you order the scoop, just let the vendor know your e60 model....
