I installed my exhaust a few weeks ago -- just clamp and go

Just recently I noticed an odd ...whining noise around 2000-2500 RPM -- kinda sounds like the noise a bad belt would make, but it is most definitley coming from the exhaust.

has anyone experienced this? or know what it is?

I've read where there is a whine created by air flow, and i hear that too -- this most certainly sounds different

Could there be a leak?

I had to change my exhaust hangers last night because I was drooping a little.

While I was under there I looked for any leaks. I think my problem is coming from the clamp. It's on there as tight as I can get it...but it just won't sit flush between the 2 pipes. I'm pretty positive this is where my problem is coming from -- I think part of it may be because the there is some play right where the exhaust is clamped on (in the installation pictures there is the 3rd hanger right there but mine doens't have a 3rd hanger) -- anyone got a suggestion on how to troubleshoot this without having to weld?

Welding is probably the only solution. I had to weld my Meisterschaft because the factory clamp wouldn't seal all the way.

Why not take some pics and contact either Eloy (RPIpower) or Joe (trinityautosport) they can probably help you figure it out and they both have great customer service. Good luck

If the exhaust doesn't sit properly and there's some give like you say, the stock exhaust piping was probably cut crooked. Remove the clamp, take some pictures and post them asap.

if the pipe not being cut 100% straight across can cause a problem than that is 100% it -- i'll try to find time to get some pictures, but i the pipe was not cut across evenly

the portion where the stock piping meets the RPi piping should be completely even/straight.
that might be the problem you are having with leaks. did you cut the exhaust yourself? if so did you use masking tape to mark your line? be careful cutting the stock piping, if you cut it too short, your tips will be too far inwards.
