So got it today and opened it up-was going to install by myself but I have no lift access, no jacks or way to lift the car and unfortunately needed a metal saw/pipe cutter so did not do it since I can get it installed at local muffler shop for 30 bucks so will wait until tomorrow.

Tips are HUGE in person-such a great looking exhaust. I have had remus and supersprint mufflers and neither of those looked as well made as this one but cost almost twice as much.

This is also very LIGHT-much MUCH lighter than stock and MUCH lighter than remus and supersprint AND this one has more piping than either of those and is still lighter.

Now I am still confused as to some of how this exhaust is designed and realized it does not matter but some thoughts are -

1.The pipe diameter of the RPI exhaust is actually SMALLER than the stock 2.75 inch piping-it is more like 2.5ish-this is different than any exhaust system I have ever seen/heard about-but clearly since every other exhaust loses power, and RPI gains power-clearly there is a reason- but different.

2.confused as to the length of piping on the muffler. Both supersprint and Remus had a much shorter pipe and just utlized the stock piping until it started bending-then the last few feet of both remus and SS offered a smoother, less bent pipe as welll as larger-RPI also has a softer lesscurved pie near the end but probably has 2 or 3 extra feet of pipe that replaces straight, non curved pieces of the stock exhaust-which I do not see the point of, aside from the pipe diamter is smaller for a longer portion of the exhaust now-maybe that is the point.

3. This exhaust gets rid of the middle hanger-so I take it since it is lighter, there is no need for that hanger-but again I dont see why not keep the hanger for added support

4.The connection piece is rather complicated-rather than just having a cut pipe that could be clamped to the cut OEM piping, they have a funny connection requirin two clamps, however I am sure there is a reason!

Anyway as far as I know there is nobody with a n52 530 with the RPI exhaust-atleast I have not seen any videos or posts-only real difference is the RPM's are higher 7kl v. 6500, so hoping that last 1k rpms will have a nice sound.

Ya just looked at the rpi website instructions on this and makes no sense to me on how to connect them-all pictures, no text-and no clue! Any whiz kids with mods want to take a look at the 530 instructions and tell me how to connect the two pieces! the 545 one is sooo much easier and what every other exhaust uses!

anyway I do not understand if the connector piece they provide-how that exactly clamps on-basically dont understand any of the connection instructions

Just bought RPI for my 545 from Krozi. I LOVE IT! My only complaint is that it seems to hang a little low. Gonna replace my old hangers and hope that makes me happy.

when i got it... i had same questions... because i had remus exhaust previously...

i took it to the exhaust shop .... what i did was cut rpi exhaust to the length where remus was set up... and i just used two hangers so that i dont have to worry about not having middle hanger...

so just take it to the exhaust shop... took them 20 min to do it and very cheap...

I was going to do this however the RPI piping is only 2.5 inches v. the stock piping is 2.75 so you cannot just clamp them together and if you just put a weld in there with two different size pipes so close to the bend that has a pretty signifigant effect on flow properties-so I am no longer going to chop the RPI-It would have been SO much easier had the piping been 2.75-like OEM but it is not-not sure that was a good idea-atleast you may lose power now-that was the point of RPI that they gain power and sound-and putting a change in pipe diamater so close to the muffler and the bends in the piping is probably not a great idea.

I will work with RPI and get it squared away-but no clue why they made it so complicated-I cant speak for the board but having installed two other exhausts, installing/removing an AFE CAI-that level of stuff-so not overly skilled but comfy enough to remove a MAF and clean it or install exhausts prior to this-but this one is even confusing to me who has already really gotten to know my exhaust fitment and some basic skills.

Not sure the point of using something that will create a permanent seal with expansion-rather than a simple clamp together piece to make removal easier down the line and considering I have never had a problem with 3 other exhausts simply clamped on-including my OEM now re-clamped on-not sure why they did not do like they did with the 545 exhaust and simply clamp it on-seems like it took wayyy more work to come up with this attachement design

If RPI reads this-for the knowledge of everyone here maybe you guys could comment a bit about the signifigance of having a lower diameter piping for the exhaust on this compared to the OEM piping-which is different than any other product I have ever seen where they increase the size if anything or keep it the same-is this anything to do with its performance?

They dyno for the m54 engine is more impressive gain wise than the 545-with solid gains the entire way up-not sure which attributes contribute.

And how about as far as cutting the RPI exhaust in a different place-like the above poster did and it being too close to the bending portion/rear muffler-in my eyes a change in diameter piping here before a number of bends would create additional turbulence and poor flow-maybe not-any comment?

I know the 530 exhaust is clearly never been or not a priority as I am sure it accounts for very few sales but many of us I am sure would be interested in some of the design behind this or any of the products-so would appreciate it-thanks!
