RPI Exhaust 545i
#1
So I took the plunge a week and a half ago or so and ordered the RPI exhaust for my 545i. I felt like a kid at Christmas waiting for it to get here from the West Coast. It arrived late Tuesday. I'd planned on installing it myself, but got home late from work, so I took it to a local shop Wednesday morning and got it installed.
I've probably only done 30 miles or so, but WOW. It is sweet. The car sounds like the way you would think a high-performance German V8 would sound if you'd never heard one before. No "can" sound at all, and cold starts are beastly. I pulled up to a light next to a black 911 Turbo yesterday on the way home from work. Wouldn't have raced him anyway, but I was turning right. Still, we each had our windows down and gave our cars some good revs. The RPI doesn't make the car sound as high-pitched as the Turbo, but it was evident to anyone nearby that there were two very powerful cars sitting at the light.
Enough with my ramblings, listen for yourself:
If anyone is on the fence about getting an RPI exhaust, or is considering RPI and something else, go with RPI. You won't be disappointed.
