I heard it's simply bolt-on... is this true or is any welding required? Also, my old MagnaFlow 14862 that "takes away" hp will be up for grabs soon! haha

Hmmm...I spoke to their dealer in Northern California and they state they recommend welding to avoid any leakage. Install isn't exactly cheap.

There is no need to weld it...Even the M5's use the same setup...You could install this in your drive way if you had a few simple tools...Just need a saber saw to cut of the old exhaust and a socket wrench and socket....Should take you no more than 30mins to install...

RPi exhausts NEVER need welding. We have never welded any of our exhausts for the M5, M6, 525i, 530i, or 545i and soon to be 550i and 535i.

Ive already dont the install for MrLOLz car. I can vouch that these do not require welding.

Welding is a good idea if you don't use reasonably good quality clamps. If the exhaust is designed right (there's no excess pressure in one direction or another) and you use at least "ok" clamps, you should be fine.

my dinan exhaust uses couplers as well. From the looks of the pictures, RPi's couplers appear much sturdier than the ones dinan uses
