It's a 545i. The second owner that bought the car never got around to removing the 550i badge that the original owner put on. We went ahead and removed it for him.

They both can be done well or done poorly.

If you go to a shop with a skilled welder with good equipment, he'll be able to put a good clean weld on there. A good welder should be able to do it so that none of the metal drips down into the piping, obstructing some of the flow, though this does happen if the pipes aren't meeting exactly flush. It should last the life of the exhaust (or car), with no leaks.

With a clamp, the nice thing is you can adjust the fitment. If the tips aren't exactly like you want them, you have a little bit of leeway to work with. Also, it takes less time and money to install. There's never any obstruction in the pipe. You do need to use a good quality clamp, and after installing it, you need to turn the car on and check to make sure there aren't any leaks. It also should last the life of the exhaust if you use a good clamp.

They're both choices for this application. I do personally like clamps here though, to fine tune the tip placement.

Just got the car back... Holy shit it sounds so good! Perfect. I might take it back to the shop though, the tips are a lil further out than I like.

Sounds great! But for Gods sake, CLEAN your car!!
So does the RPI also have the vacuum thingy? I don't think I saw it in the video.
