Looking to do a brake job soon. Many here have gone with r1. I saw ECS rotors On the their ecs tuning page. Look interesting.
Also, I've had decent buys from bavauto However not sure if cool carbon pads are the way to go. The site recommends these as best but I haven't had the best experience with ceramic pads. No question I'm not getting dusty oem pads.
Any help would be appreciated.

I can't speak to the ECS or Bavauto ones, but I currently have R1's on my car and have used R1's on several other cars as well. They have been great, I have had no problems. I have Hawk HPS pads. Hit up Michael (member name: Acuteperformance) he will take good care of you
I've got R1 Concepts Premium cross-drilled rotors from Acute Performance (great vendor) and purchased Cool Carbon pads from BavAuto (after much researching).
Really pleased with both. The Cool Carbon pads work very nicely, with very progressive bite... not as much initial bite as OEM BWM pads... so you adjust your braking a bit. Needs a bit more pedal pressure, but really feels controllable, especially when driving enthusiastically. They do NOT fade. And the bonus of course is very little brake dust---- a world of difference from OEM pads.
Can't really compare the Cool Carbon to Hawk pads, but I don't think you could be disappointed with the Cool Carbon. Very high quality. Been running the setup for almost 2 years.
Likewise, if you get the Premium line of R! Concepts rotors, you can't go wrong. Just make sure it is their Premium line (again, much better quality than their "entry level" rotors).
Bonus---- the rotors look stunning on my 545i.
