I just got it today and installed it. I was so happy about it. The material, fit and finish was absolutely not comparable to other aftermarket brand.
When I test drove it on the freeway and guesses what; I heard an annoying wind noise. It was more like turbulence.
It is common? Please help :'(

I had the BMW roof bars on my E39, but couldn't stand the wind noise either - took them off and only put them back when I really needed them.

Do you use the base rack for a bike rack or a "box"? If bike, do you use the BMW bike holder or can aftermarket bike holders (like those from Thule) attach?

I have gone on a couple of long trips with the roof rack holding snowboards and skis. There is noise, can't help it. I closed the sunshade on my glass sunroof, helped a little. No big deal to me. My .02

[/quote]Iceman - Do you have part numbers for the adaptors to connect aftermarket stuff? In my case I would be interested in those for Thule.
Thanks!
