Rims Question

My Ride: Expected delivery on 15 Jan 2007 525I Olivian Green, Beige Interior, PP, CWP, PDC, SP, Rear shades,heated rear seats, Ipod fitted, Nav, Oem Rims 166, Xenon Lights, Wood grain package, illuminated door sills
What's up family?
I am having a real delima. I am at the point of ready to purchase some wheels for my car but I cant decided between chrome or BMW 167/166. I like the BMW look of the M6/M5 rims but being here in germany thats all you see is alloy rims. I want to stand out but not be outragious. The BMW rims are of course 19" so the ride wont change all that much and I still have to preformance BMW is known for. I mean if I need to get up and go I can. But on the flip side these rims here nice 20" but are Chrome. I like chrome and I think that on my car it will look serious. But then I compramise the ride, speed, and wear and tear on CV joints over the long term. So I need some help family, on making this decision. I know that most of you are partial to BMW rims but still give me you opinions please. Mind you the Dropstar chrome rims cost $1600 for rims and tires, where as the BMW cost between $2200-2400 rims and tires.

Hi. I am rolling on 19' Oxigin Crystals, and was faced with the same dillema when I bought them. I didn't want the bimmer to look standard, but also I wasn't going for that all out gansta look. I don't know how the roads are in your area, but so far I've seen no wear and tear appear on the front end suspension parts, and I've rolled about 25000km on the rims with Michelin PS2, which I highly reccomend.

(Personally I like the last picture with 22 written on the rim. But I would gor for the 20's.)

Personally, I love my 166's. Those who know, know and appreciate the M5 wheels when they see them. But the bottom line for me and for you is whatever floats your boat is what you should get. The other important factor for me, and I don't know how particular you are, is, how easily you can clean the wheels. That's always a big decision factor for me as I need to clean them ALL the way outside and inside the rims and my brush and hands can fit through the 166's. Good luck and can't wait to see your pics once you've decided!

167's and stay the hell away from chrome! Chrome won't make you look serious in an E60. It'll look dumb. Don't ruin the car's appearance.
PS - The 166 image you have are replica's. Those are Miro's. You can tell by the outer lip around the circumference. OEM is flush. I hope you're going with OEM and not replicas...

I think these rims look way more aggressive (if you want that look) then the 166..

I dont like any too many around these days.
But if I had to chose then 166.
no way 167 they not right on a 5er I have seen them and they do look naff.
