Rims off from E39 5 series.
friend of mine has E39.
He is selling his car and he has after market rims.
Can I put rims came off from E39?
18 x 8.5J in all around. 5 x 4.72 or 5 x 120.
Anybody know about it?
He plated chrome on the rims which I dont like chorme wheels.
Is it possible to remove chrome plating?
May be over coating again?
Please advice....

The wheels may work but you'll need hub rings to make it fit.
Good luck.

I am currently running a set of 19's from a e39 m5, the offset works fine you just need to use a set of hubcentric rings because of the different bore size.
I recently sold my E60 rims to a friend who has an E39. The offsets work but they had to bore the hub a bit to make it fit since the E39 is larger. I remember the shop telling me if I ever decided to buy back those rims again and put them on my E60 (when I sell the car, of course), that all I would need is hubcentric rings.

I believe the e39 bore is 74.1mm while the e60 is 72.56mm.

+ 1, it will work, you will need a hubcentric ring. I have an E39 before and when I sold it I kept my m parallel rims, intending to put it on my E60. No modification needed except for the ring.

any of the wheel vendors will sell hubcentric rings, I personally have the metal ones some will tell you that they are no better then the plastic ones but for the extra few dollars I say go with the metal rings.
