i was referring to curbing.
every wheel made has a lip over the tire bead, which is prone to curbing. a wheel with a step lip doesnt change the lip over the tire bead.
what i was getting at, its the tire size in relation to rim width which determines how easy you can curb a wheel.
if you put a wide tire on a narrow rim, the tire will hit the curb before the rim. likewise, if you put a narrow tire on a wide rim, the rim will contact the curb first.
