There is one VERY important catch to using springs to lower the car. Yes, the ride will be more like the stock ride, however, if you use the springs with stock shocks you reduce the life of the shocks immensely. I had springs before I got coilovers (H&R springs to be exact), and my stock shocks lasted about 4 months. Since I didn't want to raise my car back to stock height, I went with coilovers when I got the chance to replace them.

Justed passed the 50k milestone and am in the market for new suspension. I have an LCI 08 550i with sport suspension, OEM 19" 172s with 17.5mm rear spacers. Was wondering if lowering the car and having these spacers would cause rubbing. I've considered coilovers, but really liked the combination of Bilstein Sport Shocks with H&R Sport Springs I had on my 3 series.
