Just what the title says.. I want my AE's to be the DRL's and also work when the normal headlights are on as usual..

anyone have a write up yet?.... or do I have to get out my test light and figure it out myself?

I've been tinkering with this idea myself and came to the following conclusions:
1. programming is doubtful unless you inject modded code into the lighting module which nobody will do for you.
2. easiest way would be re-wiring which can't be that difficult to do but my concern are the DRL's since when you turn the lights on they would come on too. I guess you could leave the actual DRL's disconnected but don't know if that wouldn't throw a bulb out error

Hi

I can see from your signatur that you drive a 2004 model , I gees with the Org. headlight's ( you have not faceliftet to the LCI headlight's , is that right ? ).

You can't coded the function that only the Angel Eys are on as DRL , if DRL is chosen in the I-drive men? , you will also have on your headlight on low beam.

If I understand you right , you just want the Angel Eys to be on as DRL , is that right understod ?.

If that's so , you can over a relay ( 2 x type 87a ) provide the pin 20 & pin 40 on the LM with power ( + 12V ) when starting the motor , then you Angel Eys will light up.

The relay's have to be wired up so that , when switcing on "light automatic , parkinglight or normally headlight" the powersupply over the relay's is being switc off , that will then also prevent a erro message to "pop" up each time you start or stop the car.

Only be a wear that you will not have taillight on , if you want this to you will have to mount a number of extra relay's ( I gees aprox. 6 pic ).

Hope this clarify's it a bit for you

makes perfect sense not to get an error message... I thought it would be alot more simple that that. Kind of like switching the 12v wire from the DRL's over to the AE's.

...but I guess not.

OR...disable your DRLs and then drive with just the angel eyes on. one click to the right of off (parking lights)

I think that is the best route. Deactivate the DRL. When you want the AE on just turn one click. That's what I did.

I agree, turn off DRL and run the car with the parking lights on (first click). I also run turn on the fog lights, looks great.

+1 That's what I do sometimes even at early night/late evening with no headlight. I have HID fogs, so they are very bright already.
