Cool retrofit questions.

Hi im new here kinda looked around a bit but can someone simple some things up for me. im looking to retrofit a couple of things
1. HUD
2. heated/ ventilated (maybe massage but not a must) comfort seats. do notice i already have heated comfort seats
3. is it worth it to upgrade from ccc to cic?
4. What does the sport button do at the gear lever? i saw people retrofit that too?.

cant really think of any more at the moment, but can someone tell me how easy it?
thanks in advance

If you know how to code, program and read a wiring diagram then the last ones are fairly easy. The HUD on the other hand is better if you purchased a car with it. A lot of money you'll need to spend and man hours to get it working. The CIC upgrade is worth it if that's what you want but there are easier options out there that's a lot better and cost around the same price with less wiring. The sport button is up to the owner. I never saw a reason to put one in my 530i because if I wanted a faster car I would of purchased an 8 cylinder

I've done ventilated seats with active backrest width adjustment. That wasn't all that hard once I found a set of seats being parted from an M5. Also had to buy new center console switches for them. I find the ventilation does almost nothing. The leather is much softer than the Dakota leather my old seats had. There is no such thing as massaging seats that came with E60s. The active backrest thing is kind of fun sometimes when going around corners, my wife finds it to be very gimmicky. I find I turn it on fairly often.

HUD, I've contemplated it but it really doesn't show you much so is more of just a novelty. Since I always use CarPlay on an MMI box and not the built in navigation it would mostly only show my speed. If I found someone locally parting one I might be tempted, but meh.

I've upgraded to CIC because it looks a bit nicer and has a higher resolution display. ANY built in nav is going to suck compared to anything you'll get on your phone though (Android Auto or CarPlay). I find the MMI box (I'm running the Mr12Volt system right now) is a fantastic add on and there are companies that make them for CCC and if I were you I would definitely go that route instead of CIC. I only upgraded because a guy two streets over was selling his CIC from an E60 after he realized he didn't know how to code things. Took me a long time to figure out how to enable the built-in maps (not like I use them) but I got them going for the heck of it.

I have a stickshift but have been told the Sport button shortens shift times and lets it rev higher or something.
