Default Retrofit Paddles 2008 528i

Well, hello, I'm new to the forums here and new to the car. Got it with crazy low miles, loved it since the test drive. I do have 2 questions though.

1. How can I install paddles. I have the electronic shifter that has sport and manual mode on it. It has the park button on the top and the gear transition button on the side. I'm sorry for the lousy description, I don't know the correct name for it. Any who, I was wondering if I can install paddles. I'm totally new so any programming and special things that need to be done, please don't hesitate to tell me. Simple install is better, again, I'm a newbie.

2. What is the whole LCI thing. How do I tell if it is LCI or pre LCI?

Thanks in advance for all of your help!!

based on your description of the shifter, your car is LCI. LCI, or life cycle impulse is German-speak for mid-cycle refresh. Do a search on the paddles, I think someone has retrofitted that steering wheel

I should have a steering wheel with paddles available for sale soon, if you want it and check out motivemods.com and email them to ask if they can help you retrofit it.

That would be great. Please email me at "tejhummer@gmail.com" when that is available. I am very interested.

@Jim165 thanks for your help as well with the LCI and pre LCI thing.
