Hi Ben,

Was the HUD retrofit a mess? I would love the HUD, and have found a unit that would work in my car.

Hi E60Sim

Yes it's one of the "bigger" jobs/mods I have made on my car , not that it is very complycated , but it takes a lot of time to do , due to that you have to dismount the hole dashboard etc. , but the job is discribed in anothter thread/topic , so try to search on it her at the forum

Remember you will have to change your rain/light sensor aswell ( ca. 1000.-Dkr ), and also the car have to be coded to the HUD option ( if 100% right , then the windshield have to be changed , but it works fine with a regular windshield also )

Good luck on the project , I can only say " I love my HUD "

Ben, as you know I have unit + windshield. I miss just some parts, like EUR 300.

Can we have an estimate of the job by your friend? I could ask him directly, but I prefer to have your opinion first.

I think it would be better let do it to a person who already did the retrofit.

Hi

If all parts is there , and notthing goes wrong I'll gess 8-10 hours incl. windshield change and coding , it toke me 8 hours + windshield change & coding , ( windshield was changede by Aut. BMW garage to a fixed price , and coding was done one evening together with some other stuff , so hard to put time on ) but that was also the first time I did it , and first time allways take longer .
