hey i want to assemble the new facelift headlights on my BMW E60 my car is pre-LCI 2005. I was wondering if anyone fitted these without coding? by the way this is what i want to upgrade from
the old pre- lci headlights Attachment 147781 to the new Lci headlights:D:D:D [ATTACH]147782[/ATTACH not my pics |
Hey ricki, check this post out: https://5series.net/forums/e60-parts...13/#post561074
It includes the .pdf of BMW's installation/wiring instructions. Note that there may be mismatched pins, the post explains it specifically. Also check this thread out: https://5series.net/forums/diy-do-yo...nstall-114185/ You can never do too much reading when you're attempting to take on a project of this magnitude. Also, without coding your angel eyes won't stay lit, you'll have some other issues too. No way around it, you need to code the LCM II after installing it. AFAIK you could skip buying the LCM II, coding, wiring, tails etc and simply plug and play the LCI headlights, but they wouldn't work properly. (The angel eyes only stay lit for a few seconds, etc) |

If you have one with cornering lights, DO NOT use full beams at all, unless you code the car. |

thanks guys for all your repaly and the good information about the retrofit i tried to fit the headlights but realized the the connector are diffrent in pre-lci so I orderd some cables and conectors.
going to wiring up something like this now that i found the diagram here in the forum. http://www.bmw-driver.net/forum/atta...1&d=1351348830 |

i'd be curious how these look in real life. they have design cues from the newer 5 series.
It would be nice to see this in real life how the headlights look. Do you now any member here who installed this on his car? Or are there pictures so we can take a look how they fit on the car |
those aftermarket headlights look terrible
