Hey ricki, check this post out: https://5series.net/forums/e60-parts...13/#post561074

It includes the .pdf of BMW's installation/wiring instructions. Note that there may be mismatched pins, the post explains it specifically. Also check this thread out: https://5series.net/forums/diy-do-yo...nstall-114185/

You can never do too much reading when you're attempting to take on a project of this magnitude. Also, without coding your angel eyes won't stay lit, you'll have some other issues too. No way around it, you need to code the LCM II after installing it.

AFAIK you could skip buying the LCM II, coding, wiring, tails etc and simply plug and play the LCI headlights, but they wouldn't work properly. (The angel eyes only stay lit for a few seconds, etc)

If you had pre lci BI xenons (i.e. the xenons worked when you used full beam) then yes, you could fit them without coding, you would need to fit 10w led angel eyes otherwise the angel eyes wouldn't work.

If you didn't have xenon full beams with your current set up then you will not get that function in your lci headlight, if that picture is an EXACT, IDENTICAL picture of the lci headlights you have. If you have one with cornering lights, DO NOT use full beams at all, unless you code the car.

your pre lci is adaptive. the one you pointing lci is non adaptive. you will get cornering lights error in idrive. you have to go for lci adaptive, but then you have to get lm2 otherwise your cornering will work as full beam.

i'd be curious how these look in real life. they have design cues from the newer 5 series.
