My Ride: On order 530D Platinum Bronze/Natural Brown Comfort seats, sunroof,PDC, Nav pro,Aux In,Xenons, Alarm, tinted glass.
ETD 27.06.07
My E60 2004 does not have PDC. I asked the dealer to install it and for Euros 1250 they have installed a rather makeshift looking system attached around the number plates. It works in the front but not in the back, seems to operate continually, and after 3 days no solution. I expected the full version to be installed, what would be the problem with that?

Did you actually get the graphic display working on the screen for the fronts or do you just get beeps?
Can you post some pics of the "makeshift looking" you talk about?
Thanks!

2004 Porsche Cayenne S : Gemballa front and back bodykit, fabspeed bypass pipes, Gemballa exhaust pipes, full option, 20" factory sport design rims------>gone
2005 545i 6-spd manual---->de-badged, CDV removal, Autosolutions short shift kit, resonator removal, premium package, PDC, xenon, almost full options, hardwire V1 install ....looking for mods...
2007 550i 6-spd----> Premium package, sport package, Logic7, heated everything, Rogue Engineering SSK, CDV removal, hardwire V1 install, aFe cold air intake, Custom Magnaflow exhaust....
I tihnk it's gonna cost a lot since the dealer either has to drill holes or get new front and rear bumpers in order to accomodate the sensors....

The accessories catalog has a dealer installed PDC that only works for the rear bumper and will not interface with the CID screen on the dash.
There are probably dozens of aftermarket sensors that mount to license plates, etc. It sounds like your dealer isn't using the BMW part and as far as I know there isn't a way to have PDC retrofitted to be the same as a factory installed PDC...

Update your signature to say where in the world you stay
In europe there is a full PDC install kit , but you needd to ft new bumpers, have the kit installed and reprograme the car
The USA only has the numberplate one that adds a small speaker inside the car that beeps

I'm in the USA, and dropped off my car today for this and a few other things: Here's the cost:
$600 us for the labor (IF the wiring is already there, Much more if not)
$275ish (can't quite remember) for the PDC itself
$6-700 ish for new front and rear bumpers.
So that's what it would cost for it to show up in iDrive. If the wiring isn't there, it will be an additional cost. I'll get back to the thread and post the part numbers and amounts.
It's not cheap though. If my car isn't pre-wired, I probably won't do it.

James, can you please update us on how the dealer determines if the prewiring is there? I'm going to upgrade to the MTech bumpers so the bumper cost isn't an issue w/ me. Thanks!

N/M I found it here:

That is awesome! So this is great news that means that this is possible afterall. Where would one find instructions on how to install the euro retrofit? BMWTIS?
