My Ride: Fully Loaded Monaco Blue 550i Sport
I was wondering if anyone did the resonator delete and left the stock mufflers on their V8 E60s? How does it sound, any sound clips?
I did the resonator delete on my E39 540i and the car sounded AWESOME...
Im either contemplating doing a resonator delete or keeping the resonators and adding on a magnaflow or borla muffler...
Basically im trying to get a nice sound from the car... looking for something to sound close to a 08 550i sport but don't want anything to loud and don't want to spend a fortune on an exhaust.

There are three resonators on the 4.8 V8. You have a few options: Some will remove the resonator closest to the muffler and keep the two cannister resonators behind the cats, some remove all three resonators (I did this), and the last option is the rarest: remove the two cannisters but keep the resonator nearest to the mufflers.
Here is an altogether different approach: remove the two mufflers, keep the three resonators and go straight pipes. Torquey5 has this last setup. An added benefit to this approach is you would be able to have a quad setup for cheap.

I"m telling you to get the B and B exhaust , even if you don't buy mine you should get maybe a new one, sounds great or if not just go to a muffler shop they will have all kinds of muffler to choose from.

From what I remember, it was only a tiny bit louder and deeper compared to stock.
The '08 LCI 550 Sport seems like its still very quiet and quieter than aftermarket exhausts, so this might be exactly what you want...

i dont think you would get any difference from taking out any resonators and leaving the stock muffler. i remember reading something like that before. for a cheaper way compared to buying a manufactured muffler, you could go with straight pipes as vt stated or maybe get an exhaust custom made to your liking.

MODS:
19" HRE 543Rs, remus catback, tinted windows
i just got a custom remus set up on my 08 550i sport and i love it, but i kind of want it to be a tad bit louder...do you think removing a resonator would help me here. if so ... which one?
on my old 04 530i i removed the rectangular resonator after i installed an aftermarket muffler and it made a HUGE difference...kind of too much....i dont want to make this same mistake?
what shoudl i do to make it a tad bit louder??!?

There's 3.
2 cylindrical and then a long box-shaped one before the muffler. See #1 in the pic below (from realoem.com)

I was referring to those cylindrical parts.. They are empty inside .
Part #1 in your diagram is there to strangle the engine, for noise etc. Imho .

Those 2 round ones are before cat or after cat? if its before cat then im definitely not touching those...
Im thinking about just removing the rectangle resonator just to get a deeper sound... keep in mind that im keeping the the stock muffler.
Like i mentioned earlier... im trying to get a little bit deeper sound nothing crazy... on my e39 540i i have a borla resonator and borla muffler and its way too loud for me.
Also keep in mind that the car is a lease... i don't want to go over board.
So what you guys think, remove rectangle resonator and keep stock muffler or keep all resonators and just change the muffler?
