Ok here's the story.

I picked up some license plate LED's but they won't light up when I connect them. I bought some 10 Ohm 50 Watt resistors at RadioShack, but I have no clue as to how to install the resistors. When it comes to this kind of stuff I'm pretty much retarded. It took me forever to install the interior LED's just because...I'm retarded when it comes to wiring and stuff.

Can the pros chime in and help me out?

Also anyone know as to where I can purchase some more interior LED's. (Other than superbrightleds.com)

Thanks in advance.

brabusw209amg will be able to help you out with buying more LEDs

As for the ones you got not lighting up try flipping them around, LED's will only work one way, as for the resistors you just twist them to the metal parts that the bulb wedges into (I soldered mine so that they don't come loose).

Thanks for the info but do you have any pictures of where to tie the resistors? Or by metal parts do you mean the places where the ends of the LED fit into? I'm seriously lost..

Try flipping the light around the other way...When i installed mine I thought the light was bad until I flipped it around and it worked!

I just out fitted my entire car with LED's and I love the new look! Ebay is a great source for LED and very inexpensive, I probably paid about $65-70 to do the entire car. The best ones IMHO are the SMD LED lights, they are far brighter and a little bit more real white then standard LEDs

You are going to need resitors for the license plate LEDs or you'll get a bulb out warning, unless of course you buy the units that are a one piece swap out. As for all the other interior, trunk, and side marker lights you will not need any resistors. Wiring the resistors are pretty easy, you just have to connect each end of the resistor across the possitive and negative (ie in series with +/-)

Also as you've found out LED are polarity sensative, so if a bulb is not working try reversing it.

GL and enjoy as it makes a hell of difference at night.

when you say keeps going out, are you seeing it go out or is it just telling you its out from your dash? If its just your dash then you need to put those resistors on, so you don't get the bulb out warning. twist the wire ends of the resistors onto the metal pieces that hold the bulb in place, sorry I don't have any pics.

Thanks for the help guys.

cleung: Well I'm not seeing the bulb go out and it's not telling me on my iDrive. I installed it and drove from my girlfriends house to my house and one of them started to flicker when i pulled in my driveway. Then I re-inserted the bulb and now it's staying lit but a couple of the LED's went out. Know what the problem can be? Bad bulb maybe? I'm not getting any light out warning on my iDrive with the bulbs in either.

Some LEDs have quality issue depending on where you bought them. You probably have to replace the one with burn out. Try contact member brabusw209amg (aka John), he sells quality LED and always provides great customer service if anyhting goes wrong.
