I have been using a set of replica 17" style 124 (check my gallery) devoted for the last 2 winter seasons - no problems ! However I am in the process of getting 19" summer set and might convert the current 18" summer into a winter RFT setup.
The 17" will probably go next season...purely on logistical and cosmetic reasons - they have served me very well, even at high speed.

All depends on the quality / manufacturer. I bought a pair of replicas for use as my winter wheels and have no problems at all. But, I bought them from Tire Rack, from a well knnown manufacturer - ASA. I probably could have found cheaper wheels, but I didnot want to risk problems.

My Ride: 2004 545i / Orient Blue (I think) / Tan int / 116's Wheels / ... my favorite option, the HEATED steering wheel!
Previous cars retired:
2006 Corvette Z51, 2002 Corvette Coupe, 2002 Mustang, 1997 Maxima, 1994 Camry, 1990 Supra
None, and I mean none compare to this 545i. The 06 Corvette was faster, but not by much...
Be careful with the tire monitoring system.

I always need to report my horrific experience with my 19" replica #166s. I bought mine from Lakeshore Wheels.
They did not come hubcentric (72.56mm). They were 74.1mm, which means that it is hard to center them properly without rings.
I could not get the centering right (or the wheels were defective). I switched to OEMs. They are lighter and my vibration problems went away.
Some replicas may be just fine, but the cost of OEMs is not always that much more. For example, OEMs were $1600 and replicas were $900.
You should save money on the tires with General Exclaims (rather than more expensive PS2s) rather than on the wheels.

That was a great link because the guy in that link bought from the same place I linked in the first post. OK, I know that I can at least 'somewhat' trust the place. Also, great tips on that link for anyone considering replicas--if you are considering them, definitely check out Wiu's post above. Thanks again.
