Hey i was wondering if anyone has changed their stock SMG shifter to the M5 one? And if you guys have can you share how hard it was to do it? thanks

The easiest thing to do is buy a non-SMG and heated steering wheel supported wireloom and modify it. The wireloom for that is about $30 at the dealer.

To change the shifter knob is easy. Just pull the old one off and put the new one on. It is that easy. You do not have to change out the paddles.
You will need to create a wiring loom of you want the shifter to light up. If you are interested PM me and I will send you in the right direction. It is pretty simple.

I think they are talking paddle shifter but i could be wrong i wish it was the one 550 is talking about that is one hot shifter.

I love this shifter. It feels so much better then the original. However, I cannot take the credit for the install. Hobi, the electrical genius that he is, took charge and did the install. If you have any electrical questions on this car, he is the man to ask.
