Titanium Silver Metallic, Black Dakota Leather, Dark Poplar Trim, Steptronic, Premium Package, Cold Weather Package, Bluetooth, Adaptive Control Xenons. 10/30/07 Added OEM 124s with 245/40/18 & 275/35/18 Michelin Pilot Sport A/S tires. Installed red Cal Covers� from BavAuto. 11/21/07 Added OEM all-weather floor mats (for winter, carpet in summer) and coat rack. 6/26/08 installed M5-style rear spoiler. 6/30/08 put on red reflectors. 8/22/08 Euro turn signal stickers applied. 3/20/09 Installed Shadowline Trim. 3/27/09 Added Matte Black Kidney Grilles from Trinity. 4/03/09 Installed Bimmian Shadow Matte Black 530i Badges. 4/04/09 Installed LED license plate lights from Trinity. 5/01/09 Installed Brabus Interior LED Kit and White Angel Eyes. 5/02/09 Put in Brabus 6K Fogs. 5/14/09 Removed charcoal filter. 5/15/09 Installed light smoke LED side marker lamps from Trinity. 5/21/09 Sprint Booster. 6/12/09 Painted exhaust tips flat black. 6/13/09 Pulled red Cal Covers and painted calipers low gloss black. 6/27/09 RPI Ram Air Scoop from Trinity. 8/15/09 Installed Brabus's silver invisibulbs front and rear. 9/24/09 Installed R-Dash license plate LEDs from Brabaus (John).
Its just an informative debate. Just like most threads here. If there wasn't informative debates people would live in stupidity and total world anarchy would have risen long ago...at least we postpone it by being informative. But then again, some people like to be stupid. The problem arises when the stupid person starts thinking their misinformation is right and then goes and spreads it among the rest of the nest. It's 2011 and we're not any closer than we were 1000 years ago, so I'd say informative debates are doing their job at keeping the balance.

Depending on my mood on any other day of the week I probably would have given the same reply as you. Just to clarify, I wasn't directing anything at you, I just felt that some replies were a bit too aggressive (not yours)......and even so incorrect as well. I'd hate to see other members believing certain things and then the debate continues and has no end. Common sense is just missing in some people. The moral of the story...the Stealership is always right and BMW techs are the most sophisticated members of the mechanical elite.I had firsthand experience in raising roaches. But I could never get the roaches to eat from my hand. Roaches cannot/do not EAT. PERIOD!

There's a lot more hidden meaning in that statement as well but I doubt few will ever understand it. So i'll give half......Basically...... Jonny has firsthand experience in buying used keys. Jonny had spent all day and night online researching and just couldn't get the key programmed. So Jonny went to his entrusted caretakers. Jonny found out from those elite sources that they couldn't be programmed. Jonny believed. Jonny states that used keys will not/cannot work. Good luck Jonny.

Ok, to each his own. Believe what you want. There is nothing special about a BMW tech. So you believe everything they say? They only know what their told. Just like you. Just like how your news is prepared for you each day and is fed to you. If I were more enthused to argue about this, I'd post a youtube video to show you but it's not really worth it. It's a bit early, but are you drunk? More enthused? How about stop making crap up? You CANNOT reprogram an E60 key fob to work for another vehicle once it has been coded.

I haven't read all the debate in this thread, but wanted to say I just paid $70 for the chipped plastic key that goes in the glove box. Already had the fake plastic fob looking "shell" which would have been more.

Wtf? Clearly you made up some crap about reprogramming your "spare" and I called you out on it. Your sense of "there is nothing special about a BMW tech" is absurd. You're essentially saying a BMW mechanic, engineer, adviser, does not know more about BMWs than the average person? Last I checked, they don't hire anyone into BMW without a requisite history.

We still didn't touch base on the re-flashing of key fobs but that may go over your head as I am getting the hint that you fall into the 'end user' category and not the 'specialists.' So now I make the assumption that this category you this forum has put you in is due to your number of posts and not your expertise on the issue. If you had expertise you would not be debating a debate which I wish to carry no further. Thanks for the comments cupcake.
