Researched this changeover for months. All wood trim was replaced with brushed aluminum at dealership. Hated that BMW forced me to have wood trim with my grey interior. Hated Anthracite though. Now interior has the 'techno' look I wanted a year ago. Contemplated plating with metal, painting and overlays. Went with factory provided finish.
Maybe i am confused...but my ex e60 525 (basic e60) with no premium nor sport pk..had those...i can still remember her..i let her go on Saturday.

The standard trim on the early US 525's and 530's without premium package was the Titan trim, which is just plastic that has been painted a silverish color. However, the trim discussed above is actually brushed (real) aluminum.

When we orderd our E60, we even paid for the sport package, which included woodtrim, but we said no thanks to that, and took the original TITAN trim instead.. I think it gives the car a much more modern look... Wood is for old people in MB's

It suprises me that no one argues for the trim they want. Orders can be bastardized if you choose. I have done it and so have others from the same dealer.
If you want something different make them change it!!
