Replaced Pre-LCI headlights, needs coding?
So, I had a broken adaptive mechanism in my driver side headlight, and just picked up a new (used) set of Pre-LCI headlights off eBay.
I got them in and they're brilliant, power up and self-adjust perfectly but my headlight switch still has the little flashing light warning of a problem and they still don't follow my steering wheel as adaptive lights should.
Does anyone know if I need to have some recoding done for the new lights? I thought since they're Pre-LCI just like my old ones they should just be plug and play.

I thought mine broke too. I was already looking for replacements and was told I would need to take to dealer to program the module for the adaptive. Luckily for me I just didn't plug it in all the way when I took off the lights when I put my bumper on. Made sure I had it in all the way ad everything works perfect.
@ Roskinc, yep, I checked the cables, they're in tight. I put the light in twice to make sure and had the same results.
@ Nomis, yeah, it does the leveling check on startup... one weird thing is that the left light does does a sweep from left to right on startup and the right light just does it mostly up and down... thats why I was thinking it might need some sort of calibration or coding?

From my post I meant that from what I read and was told, if I did buy new lights the adaptive modules would need to be programmed. But I got lucky i didn't have to buy new lights. So looks like you'll need to get it programmed.

Ah, I didn't catch that. I see what you mean now. You're right, that sounds like what I'll probably have to do.
