I am looking for an exhaust for a 550i, seem like the only exhausts that give a tastefully aggressive sound are Dinan and Remus. Anyone with either of these exhaust, what are your impressions?

RPi? Proven power and sounds means.

If you're interested, I carry it.

I have the Dinan on my 545i and love it. Very deep growl at idle, great exotic sound but goes almost totally quiet at highway cruise speeds. People ask me about the exhaust all the time. When you start the car at gas stations people look over with that great "what the hell does that thing have for a motor" look. Quality part.

I had the dinan freeflow exhaust on both e60s but replaced them with the RPI gt exhaust. RPI is hands down the best performing exhaust. In my opinion it sound much better as well

Dinan has very nice macho sound, but it does drone under load. If you want quiet and no drone, but nice growl when you give it a kick then go with Remus.

The RPI exhaust for the 550 has a very aggressive sound. The car really roars like a proper V8 should -- especially at lower rpms.

It is an exciting. extroverted sound. But not at all subtle. If you want subtle, RPI 550 exhaust is not for you. But does anyone really buy a 550 to be subtle anyway? To me, the RPI exhaust is the perfect exhaust for the 550 -- and the significant power gains proven in dyno runs don't hurt either.

what is the average cost for purchase and installation of an aftermarket exhaust? Anyone can provide a list of the different options?
