Like the AC reps that I have got, I will never pay that much for 4 wheels $6400us in HK. It just not worth that much, your paying for the name not the goods, just like LV. :thumbsdown: I bet the good only cost $1000 to make too
I have had my AC reps for 8 months now and they are 100% fine and only cost me $1500 for all 4 AC type 4 wheels in HK
With this money I save
I can change rims every year, just like getting new clothes for my car and still have loss change to get other stuff for the car.

What does any brand stand for and what costs,
the trade mark is def, one of it, but what is behind?
- quality guaranteed so no probs like what our Monaco encountered,
- reliability
- and warranty for the product, depending on brands.
So back to here why pay 1000 USD for a set of wheels which is normal btw 4000-6000 USD.
Why we do not buy fake Patek Philipe or TAG etc.

I ordered my car in May 2005, however I am crazy, cool I can live with that, I was dreaming already half year before ordering which wheel I will buy.
Then now my car is 1 yrs old and still did not buy it, now I made my final decision and I will pay more than 7000 EURO to be unqiue and get all what is behind a brand.
IMO buying something FAKE or replica cloths, wathes or car parts is denying that we cannot afford something, which I think is normal, many mates here have a Ferrari I love it, I do not have so is it true than we worth less BS!!! I obbey them and admire that is it, but my E60 will be never be a replica Ferrai
that is why I will have as one of the last ones the black wheels but next year they will be on...
You may go the other way but do not come and be clever guys, you may rish more than the breach of law as far as copyrights concerned ACS Hartge or HAMANN, your life!!!
and I am a proud European, but I always correct my friends that Far East and Asia is not only living from coping!!! Hope I will be right one day yes I am navie but I prefer to believe in this.

In HK and china no 1 stop copys!!! 
I dont know why. 
maybe it just wast of time for the OEM people to sure in HK.
Even they do and the next day they just start again in a new shop name and start selling copy again, it just goes round in round
I have seen over 50 car in HK with these reps and only 1 not a rep which is my hero.
My life is 100% with BMW cars I have had 3 in UK and 2 in HK.
In HK most of the tyre shop will sell the rep and they been doing this for over 20 years and I can see in 50 years time they will still just sell reps.
It is part of the asia life and law over here is not law not like the US or europ where they have law.

I know and it is not your or mine fault, but believe me some guys sucked already "nicely" for selling and more coping original parts, at least you can imagine what our brand does, the lawyers are good
Yeah I know and it is sad, all I said is better to pay and suffer more but then we are assured and safe

I can't really say that I am totally anti-replica. I just think that the risk of getting a bad set is not worth the extra price.
The OEMs are $1600. The replicas were originally $850.
I leased my car for three years paying $700 a month. I have spent three months waiting to get to the wheel place for the weekend thinking that this will be the week that I find the solution. I have spent hours in my garage removing the wheels to play with them. I spent $400 in balancing, hubcentric rings, lug bolts, etc.
At the end of the day, I am not sure that it was worth it to me.
Some will get the replicas from other places with no problems. Some will save some money. Yes, sometimes I buy the generic brand of a product because it does not matter to me in my own home.
On a set of wheels that everyone will see and I will feel, the replica that I bought do not seem to cut it. I will not criticize anyone for getting them (hopefully from a different manufacturer).
We all value our money different ways. For me, I would not have bought the replicas if I did not value the cost savings for the value of the wheels to me (especially with a leased car whereby I need to replace the 17" OEMs at the end). Now, I value the wheels a lot more (after the beautiful comments that people have made), and the OEMs are worth it to me.
I just can't criticize someone for wanting replicas. But there is a buyer beware component that others should know about on this board when they make their decisions.

We cannot say 'Yes' or 'No' to all replicas. In some case, we can use replicas part, some can't. There's always fine line there.
If we use replica, that product needs to be licensed by original mfr and meet or exceed OEM spec and quality. Other than that, a second thought is needed.

You should take the wheels to a tire shop and have them remove the tires and then run the wheels on a balance machine to check for trueness.
Tires have been known to be bad in the past and even though the General tires have a great score on tirerack, I would never run them on any car of mine.
Just a thought, the wheels might not be bad or it just might be one of them or one tire.
