I want to paint my engine cover and plastic cover over the valve covers but need a little assistance. I know this had been done by a few on here, but can't find the exact answer to my question.
How do you remove the valve covers?
The engine cover is removed by 4 torque screws, once I have that off, I don't see anything for the valve covers (not sure that's the exact name).
Anyone have any info on this?
Thanks, Mike

I believe you just pry them off gently. I recently had my spark plugs replaced and you just pull up on them. There's two little plug like things; reminds me of removing the front hood emblem. Same thing.

Thanks, There's definitely something holding them on, they'll move a little bit but not enough to come off.
Is there a specific location that I should put the most pressure (pry). Wonder if there's clips that need to be released.

They're basically like a ball-joint thing. You're talking about the two side pieces that say BMW right? If so, there are two on each plate about 5-6 inches from each side. Hope that helps
