Actually, a V6 E60 would be worse...
Or even worse yet...a twin turbo I6

If you think it looks good to you,

don't worry about the down sides.

+1 - that's what really matters and keep in mind you can always reinstall the badge if you don't like the "naked" look. I can't imagine removing your badge would affect your warranty....use a hair dryer and heat it up and you might be able to peel it off and save the badge and adhesive. Also, I don't believe that BMW uses pin "locator/alignment" holes - so no bodywork would be necessary.

Don't care about what other people think!!!

It's your car, and if you like the cleaner, debadged look, go for it.

IMHO debadging is the way to go

Do it! I did on my previous 545i and now have the itch to remove it on my E63. I'm getting resistance from the g/f. She says "the only reason why you want to remove it is so more people will want to race you!" Moi? No way... I just want a clean ride. The E63 and Renntech on the trunk and 6.2 on the fenders make it look too busy.

I always figure that if the badges are removed, it's usually because the owner wants the car to seem like a more powerful model (at least here in SoCal)..........(Note to self: Order M5 badges for car)...Ooops, did I say that out loud? What a giveaway!

For real!

Also, it's 6.3 on the fenders not 6.2 eventhough it is a 6.2 liter engine. The 6.3 designation is MB's homage to the 300SEL 6.3 S-Class from the 1960s. Anyway, I think I'm going to do it. ICEMAN316 dared me over the weekend to not only debadge but rebadge it a E350.

In Europe, debadged Bimmers is the way most owners go. Since they have such a large engine range for each model (many more than us spec models) it really keeps people guessing what's under the hood. My favorite is a "?" where the model designation usually goes.
