Looks promising Ryan. But $236?!?! So expensive for an experiment. Does it matter what year car you have? I'm really interested.

Based on the install manual look like it does matter as far the car year, the manual described installation on the Body-Gateway Module (KGM) wiring loom which is located under the glove compartment, previous model uses Door Module instead.

On 2nd thought, do you have the module under the glove compartment? If yes then this add-on module could be universal.

Nice!!! Could be useful... the only down side is the operation manual listed 1-series & 3-series for function 3 (folding mirror) but no mention of 5-series...

I sent schulrog a PM to answer on this thread. He's the guy who got the module made for his E64 to open and close the top with the key FOB. He's selling this module on his website, so hopefully he can answer our questions. The unit also provides other interesting features besides mirror folding, so I guess it justifies the high price tag.

I'm hoping since we have the motor in our M5 mirrors, it will be possible. *crossing fingers* I know you've been wanting this feature for forever Mike. Hah!

You are right! I've been wanting it forever!! haha. and yes it does provide a lot of other benefits.

I knew it was Schulrog's site somehow. the Paddle shifter kit on his site gave it away. I hope he can help answer some info. I tried to call before but realized it was 7 am in Cali. heh.

I hope it works, i'll order it today!

hehe yes it was 7AM but thx for the wakeup call, I needed to get up anyway I was just about to answer the phone when you hung up too lol Anyway, I'll just restate what we had discussed on the phone after I called you back.

- It is universal for 1, 3, 5-Series Models and independant of year
- In regards to the folding mirrors for the 5-Series: I really don't know especially if it didn't come OEM with the car but I sure hope it does work

NP! I have a 24/7 policy anyway. Call me when ever you feel like it. I always answer the phone no matter what time of the day or call you right back.

My guess would be because the folding mirrors is not on the CANBUS on the 5 series, whereas it is on the canbus on the e9x 3 series and e8x 1 series.
