I've had it done on previous models and it worked perfectly. It had great distance to start vehicle and was perfectly safe. If the car is tampered with by anyone who doesn't have the key, it cuts off as soon as the brakes are pressed. I plan on adding to my 04 530i soon.

Yes this works. We sell the BM1's at my work and Compustar's products are legit.

Wow I'm glad I stumbled upon this one.. I have looked on and off for the flashlogic stuff, the last I saw it was $800 or so. $500 is still pricey, but not bad!

I've seen some smart phone apps that have that unlimited range that I would consider.. but I didn't think any of them worked on the BMW's..

For the sake of clarity, the Push-to start feature was added to Pre-LCI E60s beginning approximately 08-22-2005
https://5series.net/forums/e60-m5-discussion-3/push-button-start-16402/. My Pre-LCI E60, manufactured 08-26-2005 has push-to-start. LCI is generally denoted for E60s manufactured beginning March 24,2007until the complete model change. See https://5series.net/info/2008_LCI_Detailed_Changes.pdf
The FLRSBM1 remote start module is compatible with both Pre-LCI and LCI E60s, but as you said, one key requirement is push to start.

Aight, settle down people..
Just got my FLRSbm1 FedEx today..

Literally, plug & play as stated. Total install took me maybe 35 minutes.

And yes, for my PreLci 2007 ......

Ayo, xonreh... I didn't really play with it much, but I can't figure out the secure takeover delay. The default setting is 45 seconds. Does that mean after I remote start ....go to the car .... Hit unlock... I THEN have 45 seconds to drive off without inserting the fob?

Just checked. After remote starting the car, opening and closing the door, not depressing the brake, and waiting 45 seconds, the car shut off only when the door was opened again. The only other times the car shut off is via remote shut off using the key fob or if left untouched and the 5 minute timer expired.
