Hi there
Would it make sense to remap a 545 petrol? If yes, does anybody has experience in remapping this engine by DMS?
Thanks a lot for any answer

I had a remap done and the car really punches through the gears with greater intent especially in DS 4000rpm and above as JayEll confirms as well.
I also have a K&N filter installed and a Superspint muffler on the way to complement the air inflow and outflow. The gains (with air filter and muffler) will elevate power in the 365hp region with 300 on the rear wheels. It's a great mod if you keep the expenses in check - see below.

I had it done a BMW electronics/electrical specialist near Frankfurt. I don't know what DMS charges but IMO, it doesn't make sense to hand out a lot of money for this type of mod on a petrol (unlike a diesel where it's entirely justified to pay a relatively high premium considering the gains). This means I would be hard pressed to make the likes of Wetterauer/DMS 1200euros richer for a petrol remap.
pm me if you want more details.

My 545i is remapped and I'm quite satisfied with it, especially about high rpm .
(pls fill in the 'from' field with 'Switzerland' - it isn't so difficult and will help us to help you)
