This goes out to anybody, and EVERYBODY who has been down this road, or like me, considering going this route: What are your opinions on remanufactured (reconditioned, refinished, or re-WHATEVER) wheels? There is a company that advertises on this forum called Wheels America, they boast about how great a job they do in reconditioning and selling wheels. I'd like to hear about experiences and opinions about reconditioned wheels in general.

The only company i have heard of that reconditions wheels is Wheelcollision in Bath PA.

http://www.wheelcollision.com

I found them while looking for a set of wheels for my previous BMW but found the prices to be a bit on the high side, for a bit more you can just get a new set with a discount from Gary at BMW of Newport.

While I have no experience with Wheels America, I have used a local wheel repair company: Wheel Techniques (www.wheeltechniques.com)

I have had many repairs done over the years, everything from minor curb damage to a half inch wobble. A repaired wheel can be better than new, but it all depends on the skills of the people doing the work.

I'm sure that the wheels are fine , I personally would want to see them mounted and balanced to ensure they were straight , curb rash is easy to fix and should not affect wheel performance.

Good Luck
