I agree with the dissenters....the OEM spoiler sucks! And I have seen it on an actual 525.
I say...wait, just wait...for the Alpina spoiler. They do not make spoilers to match their own rear aprons like ACS, Hartge etc. In fact they usually do not make a full body kit. They will produce a full-sized yet classy looking lip-spoiler that will flow well with the E60's lines. You'll see...
Just my two cents...

Save your money on the spoiler and put it towards more options for your car.
If your looking to be unique, spend a bit more and get some rims or a M5 front spoiler/bumper when they become available.

As long as the E60M5 front bumper will fit (I'm concerned about the front wheel arches being bulged out) a stock 545i, I think I will probably get one for my 545. It totally improves the look of the front end.
I wonder what the typical cost is of an OEM bumper/front spoiler? I would need to get one that included the headlight washers, but not the PDC.

It's all subjective, really. Again, I personally like the OEM spoiler.
But yet I agree that the car is upscale and refined. So that's actually why I like it. It's not a huge wing like you may see on a rice rocket or other pimped out ride. But again, that's also a reason why I don't like after market rims. Sure, people spend thousands of dollards on them, but I also associate that "look" with pimped out cars.
So since it's all subjective, we all just need to go with what looks best to us. Guess it's a no brainer that way.

For the e60 bumper, I'm thinking at least $800, probably more. To give you an idea, the AC Schnitzer front bumper is in that same price range.
Does the M5's fender flare out more? I didn't notice, I'll take another look.
