I was reading the FAQs and in the reflector one, it said "In the U.S., our government decided that for some reason the red reflectors seen on European cars are dangerous to the U.S. population."

Does that mean it is illegal to have them here?

Also, i have seen part numbers like these all over the board and i never know what they mean. Can someone tell me what they mean??

I don't know that they are illegal to have, just BMW can't import the car here with them. The part numbers are the official BMW #'s, so that you can go to your dealer and order them using that number. Can also be bought after market at a number of places. Got mine at bekkers.com

i don't think they are illegal. i saw saturn vue has them, mazda 6 has them, many other cars have them. i even saw some e46 have them (well, not sure they are just like us, add them after or come with the car) . i've mentioned it a few times before. but for the newer members, don't order them before you ask your dealers. they are something cheap enough for you to ask them to throw in. you are getting a $40-$100k car and they don't even give you couple pieces of plastics ?

 

Any one know how much they are at a dealership?

oh so it would be cheaper if i get it from somewhere else besides the dealer? Or will it add up to be the same with the shippng costs?
