I guess if you have your three chain smoking friends in the back seat, there will always be a lighter ready to go! Seriously, I can't think of a good reason for two other than one available for power and one for the smokers.

Actually Fred, I agree that two outlets is overkill. I was using my cell phone analogy more as a "stretch" -- even though it's a remote possibility I guess.

Still looking for the bulb and socket that illuminate the cigarette lighter...
For those who need it, the poplar part number with cutouts for both the cig lighters and the rear seat heaters is 51 16 7 141 080.
