Well, I ordered the rear console in poplar from my dealer and installed it yesterday. Definitely looks much sharper than the cheap plastic that comes standard.

Only problem is that I accidentally broke the light bulb socket for the right cigarette lighter...arrrghhhh! (there is an illumination ring around each cig. lighter).

Went to my dealer and they do not show the bulb and socket listed anywhere - meaning I can't order it!!!

So....my question is for those who have replaced the console panel with a solid piece of wood, can I buy the socket that illuminates the cig. lighter from the rear from you? (It just pulls right out).

I know this is a long shot but I thought I'd try anyways...

Thanks, Stu

Stu:

What is the PN of the part that you installed? Is it 51 16 7 153 769?

Did it have cutouts for the 12V outlets and the rear seat heater buttons? I have the 12V outlets but no rear seat heaters and really want to cover up that out-of-place plastic. I'd be willing to have two holes in the panel where the buttons _should_ go, but I'd like to keep the 12V outlets.

Thanks,
-MrB

I'm checking with my dealer for poplar, rear 12v sockets, no rear seat heaters. Will post part number when I have it.

Have to check on the part number. I know it ended in "80" though. Its poplar with cutouts for cig lighters and seat heaters...

The light bulb and socket I need install from the rear of the cigarette lighter. If the bulb and socket are taken out (like mine is now) the only difference is that there is no illumination on the ring around the cigarette lighter. There is no hole exposed...so actually, unless you knew my lighters were supposed to be illuminated, you couldn't tell anything was missing.

Still, I KNOW that they are supposed to be lit, so it bugs me...

Spec - Looks good. Did you do the install yourself? If so, how difficult? Any tips?

surprising enough I did install it myself. Not hard at all once I figured out how to take the side lights out. The lighter sockets push right out. Did not have to damage the old piece at all.

Looks great. Anyone remember seeing the poplar part number with the seat heater cutouts?
