For a portable DVD player/LCD screen I need a 12V cigarette lighter in the aft end of the center console facing the rear seats. BMW has several types of fascias available. Is there a complete plug and play kit with the fascia and 1 or 2 cigartette lighters from BMW?

As far as I know you also need the wiring to the cigarette lighters. US cars with smokerspackage get them standard. So it's not just a new woodpiece with the two lighters but also a wiringloom to give them power..

BMW do NOT have a retrofit kit as you have described... Sorry.
It is however possible to tap into the front ashtray lighter socket and extend the power leads to the rear centre console and wire up the two extra sockets. I have done exactly this on my car - see pic below:

Tobi - youre so cool man! Abslolute mega cool! Before you got nothing there? This is hot!
Thats what I?m looking for. I?ve the same idea with the front lighter but where the hell did you get the power for the lights (bulbs) for the rear lighters? My front lighter isn?t illuminated...
Before installing you better did a pic of your diy wireloom!

Hi Guys
I do everything myself - my golden rule is always use BMW original connectors. If I want to do a mod and I can't get the required connectors at all, then I don't do it. Fortunately, Ihave been able to get hold of the connectors for all my ideas so far...
I can post up a list of parts for the connectors in the pic above if you want. I'll do this later on today - have to do a little 'real' work this morning!!!
The rear lighter sockets come with the 12v bulbs!!! So when you wire up the lighter part, you have to daisy chain a +ve wire over to the bulb header. Again, later on, I'll post up some closeups here.

That would be nice - but one thing: to illuminate the rear lighter I?d have to find a wire that is assigned to the rest of the indoor illumination.
So what I mean is, that the lighters should be lighted when the headlights are on or are they permanent illuminated in your car when ignition is on?
For the original connector (male/female ???)on the lighter in front you got a fitting connector to make a Y-wireing by your own? Hm...
Edit: AH - I forgot - the "Men?" Button has an illumination wire, so that?s it.
