Which Rear Camera to Buy? Modmynav, Bimmer-tech, Bimmer-retrofit?!?
My E60 did not include the rear facing camera and I'm looking to retrofit it soon. After a TON of searching, I found three options that seem worthwhile:
Modmynav:
::modmynav.com
This is $495 and includes the option of adding a front camera (which I really like).
Bimmer-Tech:
Rear View Camera Retrofit - Park Assist Retrofits - BMW E60/E61 2003-2010 - BimmerTech
This is $567 and requires remote coding
Bimmer-Retrofit:
REAR VIEW CAMERA RETROFIT (***Self-coding***)
This is $475 and doesn't require coding
I'm looking for the most OEM-like installation and operation. The ability to add a front facing camera is interesting, but not having it isn't a deal breaker either. My car doesn't have PDC, so I'd like it if I could display the camera full screen.
What is the consensus on the correct kit to buy? I can't seem to figure out the difference between the bimmer retrofit and bimmer tech kits.

I'm also interested in this info.
I'm getting ready to upgrade my sound system with an MS-8 and PnP harness, it'd be a great time to add the rearview camera since I'll be working in the radio area where the multimedia kit will go and running cables to the trunk. A bonus would be if someone could chime in who's already done an MS-8 install and rearview camera and know of any issues, I imagine the PnP harness will take some room just wondering if that will be a problem while trying to fit the multimedia kit too. Sorry for the hijack, thanks for posting the question.

1. Get the updated firmware so that you can eliminate the bluetooth echo that will occur when you make calls
2. Don't run a separate microphone extension cable - they can fail and cause all kinds of tuning issues
Otherwise, it's pretty straight forward
