My Ride: Gone Waiting
I have install rear camera with the acm .
I have connect the camera positive wire to the rear backup light (white wire in the boot) the image is clear only if the engine is not running.
As soon as you started the engine the image is moving up and down.
If i stop the engine the image is stable.
Any idea.
Thanks

Vishwen,

I do not have cigar lighter in the boot.
I can connect a normal relay to that is :
30 & 85 positive
86 negative
87 out to camera

No it's not right.
It should be 30 to camera module.
85 to positive wire of reverse light
86 to negative
87 to battery positive terminal if you don't have cigarette/power source in the boot/trunk.
If you can use cap, it's great, but I don't know what value it should be. Maybe Bruce M. can help.
Here is recap
Use automotive relay.
http://www.the12volt.com/relays/relays.asp
Connect + and - terminal of reverse light to terminal 85 and 86 respectively.
Connect terminal 87 to cigarette lighter hot wire (green wire, I believe).
Connect terminal 30 to back-up cam triggering wire (the wire that you used to connect to reverse light).
Please let me know if you still have any question.
Regards,
Fred

It uses 12V battery as a signal, so negligible current is drawn. Their concern is if a device connects directly to battery w/o a fuse, it might cause fire if current exceeds the wire conductivity limit. You can use as 2A fuse if you like.
