My Ride: 550i Mpkg GT3 HEAVILY Modded.. Nearly all track T-Reg (Wife Mobile) R8 <- Soon
Default

Why Dammit you ask? Because I have been in the office too much this week.. Therefore I'm doing too much surfing and spending $$.. My GT3 is 60% track and is punishing on the street. No more mods needed as she is just right where she is...

I've now moved on to my new to me Carbon Black 550 //Mpkg car. Here is my short list and would like to get your input as I am new to this BMW E60 fold. First off this is my DD and work car. I have my "street monster" And a Beauty of an R8 coming in November. So I need to keep this a gentleman car; ie. nothing too flashy or over the top. I have clients to consider and 3 kids. I'm also not looking to squeeze the absolute best performance out of the car and I don't want to squeeze my wallet either.. That said, here are my plans.:

- New MTech V2 Angel Eyes (ordered today)
- Quad Exhaust.. Either UUC (looking into custom costs $$) or Magnaflow
- JL Motoring (Carbon Fiber) Front Splitter & Rear Diffuser to accomodate the rear Quads. <- I'm a sucker for Carbon Fiber (pictured Below)
- Maybe CF rear trunk lip/spoiler (Who makes this?)
- Who's Intake is the best bang for the buck?
- Any other worth while mods both aesthetically &/or performance worth while?

What do you think of this CF look on a Carbon Black car? I have a friend w/ a MB Black series and the CF in the lower extremities is nice looking IMO.

What say you?

I'd also add white interior leds to the list. For such a relatively cheap mod, I think it really accentuates the interior. And why not change the license plate lights to leds while you're at it.

For intake, everyone will recommend keeping the stock box and just replacing the filter with a quality one like BMC. That combined with a ram air scoop from RPI should do it. It has PROVEN gains. CAIs will make it sound sportier, but you will lose power.

Nice to have a 550i as a DD so you can baby your GT3. I have an Acura TL as my DD so I can baby my E60.

Whatever you do, I want in.

GT3, 550, and R8 in a few weeks? Where do I sign my life away?

So long as the Fitment/Fit& Finish ie. Clear coating is good then all should be OK.... Need to consider that this is riding at the bottom of the car and will take abuse more-so than other pieces minor issues will go un-noticed.

Anyone else have any experience w/ JL Motoring pieces?

I bought an M5 replica rear spoiler and fitment was bad!
Good luck.
