Nm allows you to accelerate, even when you're in the wrong gear and doing only 800 rpm's. HP is what you need for speed, Nm is what you need for trailer pulling. period.

Have you ever drove a chipped 535d??? I guess not. The 535d is "slow" from dead start (mine should be around 5.9sec from 0-100km/h) due to the short 1st gear and steptronic. I really doubt that any 545i (stock or chipped) can be faster than me above 100km/h. If you don't believe it, i can make a video from 100-250km/h and then compare with your times of yours 545i.

If anyone does not believe me, they are more than welcome to drag race against a supercharged Ariel Atom. It will run out of puff at around 150 Mph ("bad" aerodynamics + gearing, probably) - and so can easily be beaten by most high-spec BMW when delimited, but will definitely whip the ass of ANY BMW up to 120 Mph - infact of anything on 4 wheels except a very few supercars (and I'm talking Bugatti or McLaren).
