Wanted to throw this question out there because when I leased my 2008 528i it didn't have the Sirius tuner in it but was prepped for it. I had the dealer install one and now that it is time to turn the car in I am not going to let it go back with the car. It was an easy uninstall, but my question is does the dealer have to re-program the car now because the Sirius module is not present? I am experiencing two issues since I removed it - my bluetooth no longer is recognizing my phone and I am getting an SOS not active message. Anyone had experience with this or can offer some assistance? Thanks!

you disconnected the fiber loop. either install a jumper plug or re-do the fiber wiring at the junction block in the trunk. that will restore the bluetooth and remove the SOS error.
