I read in one forum that someone was able to install an Aux. Input which in turn showed up in iDrive as 'Aux Input'. Has anyone done this successfully. BMW claims not to offer this on the E60, E63, and E65. So if you have installed, please include your part #'s and the dealer that you used.
Thanks in advance.

Welcome!

Jeremy, you are being fed some misinformation. Go down a ways in this thread and you'll see it being done and the parts numbers required. Do a search here on the Aux Input and you'll many folks who have had it done on their E60. Can't speak to the E63 and E65.

Plenty of people in the US have had this done. My dealer didn't want to perform the installation because the service note was a 'european' offering (althought he could order the part in the US). When they called BMWNA, they indicated the same thing.

Other US dealers have installed it for people here.

The E63/E64 has had successful Aux inputs as well reported by reliable sources on another forum. I have ordered mine to be installed on my E63 prior to delivery. The dealer has assured me they know what and how to do it. Until I actually see it done, however, I do not yet want to give out their name as it might be in vain

It's great to see someone from a dealership participating publically. Tell your friends!

I'm a proud out of market customer of BMWPARTSGUY, bought mine from him and had it installed in Pleasanton CA. Works great!

This is a little off topic, but didn't think it was worth a new thread. Will the E60 play mp3s off of a CD?
