Just starting thinking about my need for a radar detector (thanks EuroCarFan)
I always pretty much figured I would get a Valentine V1, but someone mentioned something to me about K40 anybody know anything or have any thoughts about them? Besides of course the fact that it's crazy expensive...
Any help would be greatly appreciated on the topic..

V1 without a doubt. NOTHING beats the arrows. Nothing! And then get yourself a Laser Jammer.

Without a second thought V1. This has saved me from countless tickets over the last three years I've owned it. It's been with me since my Z4, then my M3, and now my 550. Radar detectors are legal in nearly all states (except DC and one or two others), whereas jammers are not legal anywhere. K40's hype is mainly of its jamming capabilities. For a sensational, nearly perfect detector, to me there's nothing other than V1.

Not a fan of the K40. My cousin has it. It's so sensitive, it even goes off when I fart in the car.

I just got my V1 and It seems to prove itself every day. The arrows are a must once you have used this thing, there's no turning back. It also has a bogey counter on it, also another great feature.

Thanks all, seems unanimous for sure on the V1...
I just wish it was strealthier on the install....Wonder if I can replace the clear suction cups with black ones
Top left of rear view mirror seems like the place to hardwire it I guess....
I'm going to take a look at that Passport LIDAR jammer too (thanks 6dinan) since the police here in Roseville use laser
